ROCK OUR WORLD
How ROW Began:
“Doing what I love”
I had been managing a rock and mineral company at the Tucson gem show for 6 years, in addition to having my own company, Jewels of the Nile, selling home décor items and beads.
The partnership that owned and ran the rock and mineral company I worked for split up. One of the partners could not afford to run his portion of the business and decided to dissolve it. In November of 2000, Chris, a trade show promoter, called me and asked if I had heard from my old boss, which I hadn’t. Chris then surprised me by offering me his old location. I immediately said yes. It would have been crazy to pass up a chance to be in the same location I had been in for years but as my own boss! It seemed to be the opportunity of a life time! I sold my home in Woodland Hills, California and started Rock Our World. I would be opening my door for the first time at the largest gem show in the world! Rock Our World was alive and kicking!
I feel lucky to be doing what I love. It’s like not working at all. (Well, sometimes those rocks get really get heavy at 9pm.)
Everything happens for a reason. This business has allowed me to meet the most wonderful and beautiful people all around the world. Along the way I have met people that have helped me and trusted in me despite never having met me before. Those that helped me in the past and those that help me now will never be forgotten. I never forget the good nature of those who are strangers at first, but soon become part of my family. I would like to thank everyone that helped me make Rock Our World happen. You know who you are. I love you very much.
Now I have an awesome warehouse in Los Angeles where everyone everybody feels at home. Please come and see us. We would love to meet you and get to know you and welcome you to the ROW family.
